Jasmyn Byrd received her Master of Architecture from the College of Design at North Carolina State University with a certificate in Public Interest Design. Her research interests are in the geopolitical economy of urbanization, urban-rural transformations, and intersections between race and architecture. She served as the President of the NCSU Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (2019) and as Member Chair of the parent organization, NC NOMA(2023). She has received numerous scholarships and was awarded The Dean of the College of Design Wings on Wings Award (2022) and the Alpha Rho Chi Honor (2022) for her contributions to her university.
Jasmyn has been a strong proponent of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work in the school, college, and professional community. She has served on multiple Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion throughout her career and strongly advocates for promoting a positive voice for change in the field.
